Applications Engineer

Renishaw are currently seeking an individual to demonstrate CMM products and provide customers with training and product knowledge.  This position offers the opportunity to work with the latest developments from Renishaw in CMM sensor technologies,  and to demonstrate its revolutionary 5-axis scanning solutions.

The key outputs and deliverables of the role are as follows:

  • To prepare and deliver customer product demonstrations
  • To provide customers with training in the use of Renishaw equipment
  • Supporting existing customers
  • Interaction with Renishaw development engineers regarding the use of new equipment and software

Qualifications and expertise:

All applicants are required to have the following:

  • Thorough knowledge of metrology principles, particularly when applied to the use of a CMM
  • Practical expertise in the use of CMM metrology software
  • A comprehensive understanding of mechanical drawings including dimensional tolerancing

Although not essential, it is desirable if applicants have an engineering qualification.

Person specification:

The successful applicant will be self motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.  The individual must be organised and have good communication and presentation skills.

Location:

This position is based at a new demonstration / training facility in the Midlands.  Some travel nationally will be required.

UK and Ireland Sales Manager - Spectroscopy

Renishaw are currently seeking to recruit a UK and Ireland Sales Manager, to work in our Spectroscopy Products Division.  Following sales growth, and the expansion of our product portfolio, the Sales Manager will be required to take responsibility for our UK & Ireland sales territories. The post will require extensive travel across the territory.

The key outputs and deliverables of the role are as follows:

  • Generating new business and exploring potential applications
  • Preparing quotes, technical information packs and tenders
  • Organising and presenting seminars
  • Attending conferences
  • Managing customer demonstrations
  • Maintaining relationships with existing customers

Qualifications and expertise:

  • A good Science or Llife Sciences degree, ideally a PhD
  • Previous sales expertise in analytical instrumentation, preferably spectroscopy based
  • To have knowledge and a proven ability of working within life sciences, pharmaceuticals or the bio-diagnostics markets
  • A full, clean driving licence

Person specification:

The successful applicant will be self-motivated and organised, and have an attention to detail in their work.  The individual will be personable and a good communicator, both verbally and in writing.

Location:

This role is primarily based at our Old Town site at Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire.  Some travel to Ireland will be required.

Sales Development Manager

Renishaw are currently seeking to recruit a Sales Development Manager to continue the growth and to maximise the business within the Rest of the World (RoW) sales division. The successful applicant will be required to take responsibility for a number of emerging sales territories within Central Europe and beyond. As a consequence the post will require frequent overseas travel.

The key outputs and deliverables of the role are as follows:

  • Working with the overseas sales force and management to achieve set sales targets
  • Maximising sales through indentifying and exploiting new business opportunities
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with key customers at a senior level
  • Maintaining accurate and up to sales forecasts and cost budgets

Qualifications and expertise:

  • To be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline  
  • Previous sales experience selling technology- based products in an international context
  • A background in Machine tools or Measuring equipment would be desirable
  • Foreign language skills would also be an advantage
  • A valid passport is required for frequent overseas travel

Person specification:

The successful applicant will be self-motivated and well organised, and have an attention to detail in their work.  The individual will have excellent interpersonal skills and be recognised as a good communicator, both verbally and in writing.  Good numeracy skills are essential.

This role is based at the New Mills site at Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire.  Extensive overseas travel is required.
