Renishaw and other measurement specialists to hold five-axis measurement seminars

Renscan5™ REVO™ measuring large bladeWorld leading metrology companies Renishaw, Metris, Mitutoyo and Wenzel, and CAD/CAM developer Delcam, are holding a series of free half-day UK seminars in Autumn 2008 covering Renishaw’s revolutionary Renscan5™ five-axis measurement technology, including the award-winning REVO™ measuring head.

Each of the events will cover the operation and applications for the new system, compatible software packages, its suitability as a retrofit option, but fundamentally the huge throughput benefits that the new technology can bring to users of co-ordinate measuring machines (CMMs).

Remarkable benefits to CMM users

The first event will be held at Metris near Derby on 9th September, followed by an 11th September event at Wenzel in Gloucester and then at Mitutoyo’s Andover offices on September 17th. During November there will be events at Renishaw’s Wotton-under-Edge headquarters on Tuesday 4th, at Delcam’s Birmingham headquarters on Tuesday 18th, and concluding with a northern event at Mitutoyo in Halifax on Thursday 20th November.

Early adopters of the REVO five-axis measuring system have seen remarkable benefits since implementation, including TURBOCAM in the USA, who remarked, “What used to take three days to program now takes three hours”, whilst a large aerospace company has seen the inspection time of airfoils fall dramatically from 16 hours to just 5 hours.

Award-winning measurement technology

MWP Awards 2008 - Winner logoThe truly innovative nature of the REVO system was also recognised by a panel of eleven independent industry judges, when it won the ‘Best quality control product or system’category at the prestigious MWP Awards Dinner held in Birmingham, UK, on 22nd April 2008. It won the top award against entries from other leading metrology companies, including Hexagon Metrology and Faro, and was summarised by the judging panel as an "Absolutely brilliant idea, which speeds the measurement of complex component shapes.”

At each seminar there will be time scheduled to allow attendees to discuss their individual measurement requirements with a team of experts from Renishaw and the host company. Attendees can choose between a morning or an afternoon session at each venue, and a free lunch will be provided.

To register for the seminars, please use the on-line booking form at www.renishaw.info/roadshow, or contact Katie Hibbitt on 01453 524414.
